       When H.M. Dougal , Grandfather/Great Grandfather of our company's current owners first began operations in 1953 as Harold's Lock & Key, transponder chips in automotive keys were nonexistent.  We began in Boise, ID as a mobile locksmith business servicing automotive, residential, and commercial customers.

       In 1997 our family changed the company name to Key Man Lock & Safe Company when Glenn Letteer, one of our master locksmiths took over.

       Key Man Lock & Safe is now based in Ogden, Utah.  We have been in business since 1953.  Although we are experienced in all areas of the locksmith trade, our specialization is automotive.  Our automotive locksmiths are true experts in the field and are proud to be Utah's only locksmiths with the knowledge and ability to make Audi, VW, BMW, Volvo, Saab, Mini Cooper, Jaguar, Bentley, Mercedes, and Aston Martin keys when all keys are lost, or when you only require a spare.

 

       We possess the latest equipment, computers, and software required to laser cut and program 99% of the automotive keys currently available.  We invest over $200,000 per year on the latest equipment and training in order to stay on the leading edge of technology.  We are quite literally a decade ahead of our competitors.

       In 2019 Key Man Lock & Safe Company opened American Center For Locksmith Training, the largest automotive locksmith training center in not only the United States, but also the world with almost 9,000 square feet of classroom space.  Students have come from all over the world to learn EEPROM Locksmithing, Automotive Locksmithing, BMW, MERCEDES, Volvo, Saab, Volkswagen, and Audi while working with the most advanced equipment available.  At Key Man, we are truly the "Locksmith's Locksmith".

 

        All Key Man Lock & Safe locksmiths are licensed, bonded, and insured.  Our locksmiths are also members of the National Locksmith Association, Society of Professional Locksmiths, and Professional Locksmiths of America (PROLOA).
